“Jesolani. From the Roman Empire to the fall of the republic “

On Tuesday 22 March 2022, the presentation of the book by the local historian Giuseppe Artesi “Jesolani. From the Roman Empire to the fall of the republic ”

The ancient Equilo, with its various name changes, became Jesolo in 1930. Considered by the main historians to be “castra” like other major centers inhabited by the populos, in the 11th century it even wanted to compete with Venice. This narration takes place from the 4th century to 1797, the year of the fall of the Republic, in an intertwining of religious, political, artistic and social history that involves dozens of noble families from Jesolo who gave the Serenissima 26 doges.
