Performance on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance

“Mili muoi, that’s what my grandmother called me…”

On Friday, February 10, 2023, at the Vivaldi Theater in Jesolo, the show Mili Muoi. L’esodo dei miei to celebrate the Day of Remembrance.

The show is written and performed by Carlo Colombo. The author, pianist and singer brings to the stage the thorny topic of the exodus from the territories of Istria and Dalmatia following the establishment of the communist dictatorship of Yugoslavia after 1945. The son of Giuliano-Dalmatian refugees brings to life the stories of escape experienced by his family.

The show is an aural journey, thanks to musical accompaniment with piano, ekatron and Toy Piano. Period songs and original songs written for the occasion alternate to tell the stories of escape and those who rebuilt their own far from their place of origin…
