Venice Carnival “Remember the future”

From February 12th to March 1st

The Venice Carnival is back this year, one of the most important events in the world.

It will be a reduced Carnival, with events distributed throughout the city, but what matters is that we will return to celebrate in presence.

There will be no major events such as the Flight of the Angel and the Eagle and the procession of the Marie, while the evocative opening parade in the water on the Rio Cannaregio this year will be held at the Arsenale.

On weekends, shows and events will be held in the various fields of the city from Santa Maria Formosa to Santa Margherita, and again in San Giacomo dell’Orio, San Geremia, San Cassiano, Sant’Elena, dei Gesuiti and in the castle district. In Piazza San Marco the traditional parade for the mask competition will be virtual, with online registration. Participants, upon registration, will be able to have a picture taken in costume at the “Play with the lion” installation

On the mainland, in Mestre, shows in Piazza Ferreto where children can register and compete virtually in the “Play with the mask” masked parade as in San Marco, and then in via Palazzo and in Piazza Donatori di Sangue.

All outdoor events will have free access with the obligation to wear a mask and spacing, while for events at the Arsenale, Ca ‘Vendramin Calergi and indoors it is mandatory to book and show the Green Pass.
